PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Understanding the
Double-Row Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Double-row cylindrical roller bearings are heavy-duty rolling-element bearings with four rows of cylindrical rollers. Each roller makes line contact with the raceways, giving a very high radial load capacity and rigid shaft support in a compact design, which makes them well suited to rolling mills and other heavy machinery.

BEARING CONSTRUCTION: Double rows of cylindrical rollers run between the inner and outer rings, which are fitted with a cage or spacers to keep the rollers evenly spaced. Sharing the load across four rows lets the bearing carry very heavy radial loads in a compact width, and many designs can be separated for easier mounting and dismounting.

About

Double-Row Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Two rows of cylindrical rollers work together to carry heavy radial loads with high rigidity and stable, precise rotation.

IR

Inner Ring

Mounted on the rotating shaft. Its two raceways and guide ribs keep both roller rows aligned.

ROTATING COMPONENT
OR

Outer Ring

Fits in the housing and provides the outer raceways that support both rows of rollers.

SUPPORT COMPONENT
CR

Cylindrical Rollers

Two rows of precision rollers make line contact with the raceways, giving high radial load capacity.

ROLLING ELEMENT
C/R

Cage / Retainer

Keeps the rollers evenly spaced and guided in both rows during operation.

FAQ

Double-Row Cylindrical Roller Bearing Guide

Understand the essential information before selecting a bearing for your application.

01 What is a Double-row cylindrical roller bearing? +
A heavy-duty rolling-element bearing with Double rows of cylindrical rollers between the inner and outer ring raceways. The rollers make line contact with the raceways, giving a very high radial load capacity in a compact design.
02 Where are Double-row cylindrical roller bearings commonly used? +
Mainly on the roll necks of rolling mills, such as steel, aluminum and copper mills, and in other heavy industrial machinery that must carry very heavy radial loads with rigid support.
03 Why do Double-row bearings carry higher loads than single-row bearings? +
The load is shared across Double rows of rollers instead of one. Combined with line contact on the raceways, this gives a much higher radial load capacity and greater rigidity within a compact width.
04 What are the main parts of a Double-row cylindrical roller bearing? +
It consists of inner rings, outer rings,Double rows of cylindrical rollers and cages or spacers that keep the rollers evenly spaced. The rings are shaped to guide the rollers and keep them aligned.
05 How do I select a Double-row cylindrical roller bearing? +
Bearing selection typically depends on factors such as bearing size, load, speed, shaft and housing dimensions, operating environment, lubrication and the requirements of the specific machine.
06 What information should I provide when requesting a bearing? +
Providing the bearing number, dimensions, application, machine type, operating speed and load requirements can help identify a suitable bearing specification.
